Keen to help personnel maintain fitness and promote wellbeing during these difficult times, RAF Leeming’s PTIs have been taking to the stage and offering live circuits 4 days a week. Sessions include bodyweight (no kit) sessions, kettlebell sessions and a weekly stretch session.

Cpl Hannah Calton explains the thought process behind the virtual circuits was: “It is really important that during the pandemic, people are keeping active. Keeping physically fit not only offers benefits to your body’s immune system but can help combat stress, anxiety and low mood; all factors that can affect your wellbeing during periods of lockdown. Even though the gym is closed, we wanted to ensure that personnel and their families could still access exercise beyond going for a walk, cycle or run.”

Virtual circuits are streamed live on their Facebook page: “Leeming Physical Education Flight”. They are steamed on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 1200.

And, not to worry if you can’t make it, the PTIs are keeping the videos on the page feed so that you can access the back catalogue of circuits when it suits you!
